September's meeting at Lake Erie Center

Our first meeting of the season will be held at the University of Toledo's Lake Erie Center near Maumee Bay State Park. We will have a cookout with food supplied by our Trout Unlimited chapter. We will also have a presentation and a tour of the facilities.

Our speaker will be Dr. Bill Hintz. Dr. Hintz is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toledo’s Lake Erie Center. His research focuses on the conservation of freshwater fishes. He completed his bachelors and masters degrees at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and his PhD at Southern Illinois University. Prior to arriving at the University of Toledo, he spent four years in upstate New York studying the impacts of pollution, invasive species, and climate change on lake ecosystems. Originally from Minnesota, he is a huge Vikings fan.

Dr. Hintz’s talk will focus on the effects of road salts on the growth and development of rainbow trout.
